The project here is a porch enclosure. The objective was to expand the finished living space without altering the footprint of the house. The existing porch was an older enclosure, but unheated and rather poorly built. We put the porch roof up on posts and demolished the existing porch. We framed a new porch at the same floor height as the main house. New windows and insulation were installed and the wall between house and porch removed. Salvage maple flooring was installed to make the transition between the new and old work as seamless as possible.
