Custom Record Cabinets
I am a record collector and a few years ago when I renovated my house I built some record shelves for my collection. Mostly I collect 7" singles and I was looking for a compact way to store my collection. I had bought an old library card catalog at a yard sale for storing cassette tapes and one day it dawned on me I could build a similar type of cabinet scaled up to store 7" records. I built and installed the cabinets in my house and they have worked out great. I posted some pictures of the cabinets online, and another collector contacted me and commissioned me to build similar cabinets for his home. The photos above are the cabinets we built for me just before we wrapped them up for delivery. Each drawer would hold 100 to 150 7" singles. I can custom build cabinets like this (card catalog or apothecary style) for any kind of collection and build them to fit any kind of room. Furthermore, they can be finished to match existing trim or furnishings.
