China Cabinet Bump Out
A recent project was a whole house remodel of a cottage near the Fairgrounds. The customer wanted to add some arts and crafts/bungalow features. A popular project back in the early 20th century was to build a bump out for a china cabinet, and this is exactly what we proposed to do. A window in the dining room was removed and an opening created. We framed a bump out and installed the windows, matched the siding on the exterior, matched the textured plaster on the interior, matched the trim and stain and lastly custom fabricated this oak china cabinet. The goal was to make it look like it was originally part of the house. This is a major upgrade to an otherwise rather plain dining room and doesn't take away any floor space.
